A New York City subway derailed on May 2 in Queens injuring 19 people. Several passengers were transported to local hospitals to be treated for serious injuries.
The Manhattan bound F express train derailed shortly before 10:30 in the morning. Emergency responders had to help about 1,000 passengers off the train through the subway tunnel and up emergency ladders. Six of the train’s eight cars derailed. The accident happened near the 65th street station.
